The children are
encouraged to dress up for the following events.
Reminder notes
will be sent to inform parents of exact date of event.

Day: October |

| Indian Day:
First Monday in November. NO weapons! |

| Fifty Days
in School: 50th day of school
Girls: Pony tails, blue
jeans or poodle skirt, white shirt, neck scarf, white socks, gym
shoes. Boys: White undershirt, blue jeans, leather jacket
(optional), greased hair, etc. |

| Christmas
Around the World: December
Beau and Babette Bear visit
from Paris, France spending the night at each child's house. At
school, the children take their passports and visit countries
around the world completing various math assignments. |

| Pioneer Day:
February Girls:
Bonnet, long dress, shawl Boys: Blue jeans, suspenders,
straw/coon skin hat, white or flannel shirt.
All children will bring
their lunch in a basket. |

| One
Hundredth Day of School Dress up like an old person. |

| Oviparous
Animals: March-April
Students identify, sort, and
classify animals that are oviparous. Classroom activities housed
at the Oviparous Center include opening eggs to reveal parent
animals and their egg clusters/clutches. Math skills for each
egg activity include: place value, ordinal numbers, multiple
addends, greater than and less than, and estimation. |

| Camping:
April-May Snuggle
up close to a crackling fire, smell the pines, and read a good
book. |

| Western
Week: May-June
Western attire. NO weapons.
Western Week is culminated
with a chuck wagon lunch with the following menu:
- Prairie dog links:
hot dogs
- Pony blankets: buns
- Cactus juice: fruit
drink
- Cow chip delights:
cookies
Afternoon activities
include a rodeo. Events include bull roping, cow chip toss,
water bucket relay, wagon wheel relay, boot hill relay, and
horse shoe toss. We even had a real mini Texas tornado one
year! Cowboy hats flew up into the air and out of sight! |
